This is the best way to start with a series, which this reader did, with this issue being the first from this title I have tried in years. It could have really helped if there was a recap. Still, I was able to get hints of what transpired before from the the dialogue and how the characters reacted to each other. The story has a familiar beat, it felt like a lost episode of Arrow from a few seasons ago.

I may be a new reader but the last page still proved to be a shocker and poignant if things go as they ended in this issue.

GREEN ARROW : THE TRIAL OF THE TWO CITIES (Contains issues #33 - #36) - 2.5 out of 5 stars

Post Rebirth Green Arrow was for a long time one of the best title , sadly as time has gone on , the storyline has started to feel a little too dragged with unnecessary twist , turns and return of characters out of nowhere . In fact it appears as if the Luck of Oliver has more to do in the story than Oliver himself , with luck always placing him in places where key events are to take place or luck helping him to escape from a troubled spot or even find clues that help him all the way .

Luckily the other good thing to happen to the Green Arrow Title post rebirth remains the constant good thing about the title , i.e , the Art , it's just so stunning to look at and the latter issues in this arc where GA goes underwater truly makes the reader marvel at the talent of Schimdt and Ferreyra .

Overall I think it's an underwhelming product that could be made much better but weird pacing and a dragged storyline makes it a mediocre result at best

A pure pleasure. Finally, a proper development for Malcolm Merlyn, a lot of development for Moira Queen, a huge development for Emiko, a lot of amazing action, a lot of drama... this issue is fantastic. Benjamin Percy even trolled The CW a bit through Emiko's sharp tongue. Which was a good thing too. Honestly, issues like this makes me want more and more of this series.

Thank you Black Canary for always being there to kick some sense into Oliver when he needs it. This issue helps once again establish the stability that Oliver's relationship with Dinah brings to his life. Also, we find out just how much Moira Queen sucks as a person. Quite a shocking ending to this issue, but I won't spoil it for those that still want to read it. Just know that it will leave you wanting next issue even more. Really well written issue. Good job Percy.

I could copy and paste my review of the previous issue. I like JF’s art very much. I think it fits the characters well, and it makes the adult elements seem more adult. The writing is solid too, I just am not in love with the characters or this storyline. Another somewhat unexpected/should’ve seen it coming ending. 3 and a quarter stars.

God, I just love my two blonde heroes so much.

Also, someone needs to get the Arrowfam some armor. Bruce, how do you expect Oliver to keep Damian safe when he's wearing some leather and a cloak??
