If you turned your phone (or your head) 5° to read this post, it's because you felt inside the Leaning Tower of Pisa!Yes. 5° is what the famous Italian tower is leaning. And is anyone worried about that? Nothing! The fact that this tower has achieved so much success is exactly because of this tilt, which brings thousands of tourists there to take a selfie with the leaning tower in the background. And do you know the history of its construction? Then check out the inclined text of today's post, where I bring, in a summarized way, what happened!Just one thing. Before you turn off your phone, comment down here what you thought of today's post 😀Via: @engmatheusborges💚

Things are never what they appear to be…It’s always worth being curious and exploring further to see what else you can learn. And you might be surprised at what you find out!******I’m on holiday in Greece at the moment. And yesterday I made the iconic visit to the Acropolis (the big rock) and the Parthenon (the temple on the rock). And it is as impressive as it appears in all those photos you’ve seen! However, the Parthenon is not the first temple on the site. This particular one was built in only 9 years around 450 BCE.And we could have seen it in all its glory… if the Venetians and the Ottoman Empire had not fought a war in 1670, in which the Venetians blew up a store of gunpowder that the Turks had stored inside the Parthenon!!Hence all the restoration work that has been underway in one form or another for the last 350 years.Restoration is a good thing, right? Not so fast…It turns out that some are critical of the current renovations as an attempt to “whitewash” history by fixing into place a certain version of the Acropolis - but denying other histories, other cultures that have interacted with the Acropolis before and after the famous temple was built.Interesting, yes?******What are you taking at face value that might be hiding a more complex narrative? What in your organization is worth exploring more deeply, with greater curiosity, to see what new perspectives you might discover?#TravelOpensMinds #OpenToLearning#MoreCurious#CuriousAboutChange #DecoloniseTheAcropolis

🔔 I found it livable. How you find Tbilisi, Georgia? Various elements, such as the smells, fecades, and sounds you perceive, and even the clothing and behavior of the people you encounter in an environment, shape the personality of the destination.🎶 These elements resemble different instruments that compose a symphony. To enhance this symphony, the low notes might be played by a local cafe restaurant in the streets of the old city textures, creating a simple, small and cozy image in the tourist's mind, or they might be symbolically displayed from the highs and lows that the city has overcome, as a symbol in the central square. Each city and each region has its own unique symphony.🔎 While working on the project of urban sound analysis and transforming the sounds that the user experienced in the main streets of the city into piano notes, I acquired this habit of searching for the musical sound of a neighborhood, regardless of its size, and discovering the connection between the different elements of the symphony, such as:✅smells (the smell of coffee and sweets and local foods),✅sounds (the sound of cars, the sound of people's footsteps, the sound of birds and water, the sound of music heard from a cafe, the sound of people's laughter),✅ and the facades of buildings. This project broadened my horizon on how and why we should pay attention to this symphony.https://lnkd.in/dJ4NAtrm#tourism #destination #cityplanning #smells #facades #historicbuildings #georgia #squarespace #tbilisi

Old Bridge Area of the Old City of MostarThe historic town of Mostar, spanning a deep valley of the Neretva River, developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman frontier town and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and Old Bridge, Stari Most, after which it is named. In the 1990s conflict, however, most of the historic town and the Old Bridge, designed by the renowned architect Sinan, was destroyed. The Old Bridge was recently rebuilt and many of the edifices in the Old Town have been restored or rebuilt with the contribution of an international scientific committee established by UNESCO. The Old Bridge area, with its pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean and western European architectural features, is an outstanding example of a multicultural urban settlement. The reconstructed Old Bridge and Old City of Mostar is a symbol of reconciliation, international co-operation and of the coexistence of diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities.#oldbrigemostar #mostar #bosnaihercegovina #historicplace
