How do you qualify for the 2024 Olympics? ›

The qualification system is the same for men and women. The French team is qualified automatically, as the host country. To be selected, the other teams will need to either win the world championship or their confederation's tournament, or be one of the top 17 teams in the Olympic Ranking List.

The winners and runners-up of each group advanced to the knockout stage, and the winners of the semi-final matches and the third-place match qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The loser of the third-place match advanced to the AFC–CAF play-off match.

Competition System. The Women's Olympic Basketball Tournament at Paris 2024 promises to be an exciting spectacle with teams vying for the gold medal. The 12 teams in the Group Phase will play for one of the eight spots in the Final Phase heading towards claiming the gold medal.

The qualification window for the marathon races will occur from 1 November 2022 to 30 April 2024; for the 10,000 metres, combined events (heptathlon and decathlon), racewalks, and relays from 31 December 2022 to 30 June 2024; and for the remaining events on the program lineup from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024.

The U.S. women, meanwhile, qualified for the Paris Games after winning the CONCACAF W Championship in July 2022. Rosters will be announced later this year, but there have been hints about several players who are likely to play for the men's team.
