Did you know that in Linz, Upper Austria, with Café Gutmut the first of its kind sign language café has opened in Austria?☕🍵👏🏼I didn't!The Café Gutmut is also a work integration project by the Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy (Barmherzige Brüder) Linz for people with hearing impairments; employees will be able to acquire specialist knowledge in the catering industry with the aim of subsequently successfully entering the regular job market. Guests with hearing impairments will find service staff who speak sign language, while hearing guests can practice signing and take on a different perspective. That is amazing 👏🏼🎉Now, did I know all of that when I first walked into Café Gutmut today? - Hell no! But did I find myself immersed in a new situation that required me to think differently and get out of my comfort zone?You bet! And I really wished I would have been able to understand sign language. Adaptation & assimilation instead of camouflaging 😉Honestly, the coffee is just delicious and the café itself is beautiful ❤️ there are home-made Snickers bars 🤤What more do you need ?
