The Panthers go 5-0 in three of their four match on the weekend, starting out the season undefeated

Miami, Fla. – The No. 12 FIU Beach Volleyball team (9-0) continue their hot start to the season, going undefeated in their first nine matches. The Panthers swept the FIU Invite, playing the likes of Barry, Emmanuel, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Barry again, winning every match 5-0 other than one, which they won 4-1.
Day One
In the Panthers' first match against Barry, FIU swept the competition, winning all of their matches in straight sets. Pairs 1-5 showed their dominance, with Barry only getting into double-digits in two sets the whole match. Reka Orsi Toth and Giada Bianchi continue to be mainstays on court one, while the Panthers toyed with their lineup in a few other key areas throughout the invite.

The Panthers' second match of the afternoon came against Emmanuel, who's beach volleyball program is in their inaugural year. FIU once again swept their opponent, winning 5-0 in dominant fashion against their opponent. The Panthers made a couple switches, specifically on their four and five courts, with Nomie Cauchon and Emma Braticevic not missing a beat, and winning in straight sets on court four. Thalie Brossard and Ariana Castro cleaned up on court five as well, winning in straight sets and securing a day one sweep for the Panthers.

Day 2
Day two for FIU started with a bang, winning in four of their five matches against Palm Beach Atlantic. Court four showed some new faces, with Maria Vinatea and Lauren Huggins winning in straight sets 21-11 and 21-17. The Panthers went into their final match of the day 3-0 in the FIU Invite.

The Panthers ended the final day of the FIU Invite the same way they started the first day, with a 5-0 sweep over Barry. The Panthers once again experimented with new lineups, on the four and five courts, with Zoe Cahill and Lauren Huggins picking up a win in straight sets on court four, and Maria Vinatea and Paola Alvarado claiming victory in straight sets on court five as well. The first three pairs in this match looked identical to the first meet, with the same result coming into fruition with all three claiming wins in straight sets to round off a fantastic invite for the host school.
