6-person pepper (2)

USA Olympic Coach (‘84 - ‘96) Oregon State University (‘05 - ‘16)

Purpose: To increase communication within your team while also improving player's ball control skills

How it works: Six players line-up in base position on one half of the court. The front-row players turn around to face the back-row players so that their backs are to the net. Left and right front act as hitters while middle front is the setter. Either from a coach or player initiated ball, players pass the ball to middle front who sets either hitter, whichever way the ball is set, the other players position themselves into their defensive position and dig the ball. After a certain number of clean contacts or rallies, players rotate positions.

Variations: After players reach the set number of clean contacts, have them rotate while keeping the ball alive for an added challenge.

Requirements: Six or more players and a full court
